PHILOSOPHY

INTRODUCTION: 

       Philosophy literary means'' Search for the ultimate truth or wisdom'. Philosophers are people devoted to wisdom. Philosophy is the MOTHER of all sciences. Philosophy respects all other schools of Philosophy- Theistic, Atheistic as well Materialistic in nature. It covers thinkers from ancient to Contemporary times. Philosophy studies the fundamental nature of existence of man and man’s relationship to existence. In a realm of cognition the special science are trees but Philosophy is the soil which makes the forest possible.

WHY SHOULD WE STUDY PHILOSOPHY?

         Philosophy helps us to understand that things are not always what they seem to be they help in distinguishing between Reality and Appearance.

         It teaches us how to grapple intelligently with basic question such as Who am I? Does God exist? How Should I live? Should I do what Society dictates me to do? Can I be sure of any of my Believes? Does my life have any meaning?

   Philosophy makes us more analytical and Critical in our approach thereby developing our ability to think rationally. Studying Philosophy refines one’s ability to communicate clearly with others and articulate one’s thought in meaningful way.

APPLICABILITY OF PHILOSOPHY 

   

     With emphasis to the applied component Papers at the T.Y.B.A level that is: LIVING ETHICAL ISSUES, YOGA PHILOSOPHY and an elective paper namely FORMAL LOGIC, it can be said that:

    Subjects like LIVING ETHICAL ISSUES helps in sensitizing the Young minds about current Ethical Issues like EUTHANASIA, SURROGACY. RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS FLORA AND FAUNA, RIGHTS OF ANIMALS, EXPERIMENTATION ON ANIMALS, FEMINISM to name just a few topics. It inspires and encourages students to choose careers like MSW, SPECIAL B.Ed. etc.

Subjects like YOGA PHILOSOPHY covers the ideology, the technology and Philosophy of Yoga. It is a Philosophy which has taken the entire world with a storm and has found its right place as a Greatest Contribution of Indian Sages and Yogis. It is now recognised and acknowledged as UNIVERSAL, SCIENTIFIC AND SECULAR IN NATURE. 

   Subjects like LOGIC enhances Reasoning which is Critical, analytical, Valid thinking which  helps students to take up careers as Lawyers, Computer Programmer, Clear Competitive exams (UPSC,MPSC,BANKING,POLICE FORCE,AIRLINES,NET-SET etc.) in first round.

 To put it is a nutshell, Philosophy develops the personality of an individual, Integrating the Mind,Body and Soul.
